The Porsche 917 is a sports prototype and was the first car Porsche achieved overall victory at Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. This is the model of Porsche that featured in the Steve McQueen film Le Mans. These cars competed in the Group 5 category for cars with an engine capacity limited to five litres. They could achieve a top speed of 240mph.
This Porsche 917 is seen here in the paddock at Goodwood during the Members Meeting. It is painted in the distinctive blue and orange Gulf Oil livery.
The image is available as a giclée print (see additional information). Each print is signed by the artist Steve Goodwin.
