The MGB Roadster was built from 1962 to 1980 and was Britain’s best selling sports car. At its launch, the MGB Roadster was priced at £834. Its nearest rival was the Sunbeam Alpine was just £6 more than the MGB. Other than that there was nothing else in its price/performance range. Unlike previous MG models, the MGB had exterior door handles and the car could actually be locked – which was quite something in 1962!
The MGB has a 1800cc B-Series engine. It produces 95hp and early cars were road-tested at 108mph and with a 0-60mph in 12.2sec.
